June 6, 1958 - February 13, 2020
Jimmy Peter Larocque passed from a heart condition on Feb 13, 2020. Many people in Maple Ridge did not know Jim although they may have seen him over the past 20 plus years walking around town, with his earbuds in, listening to his favorite music, as he headed to the Rainbow Club or just out for a stroll. He often collected cigarette butts to help support his desire for smoking although he could not afford to buy them. He also collected small items to use in his visual art.
Jim was our unique younger brother. As a child he was precocious, extremely intelligent, insightful with a fun sense of humor. Jim wrote poetry and gave some readings of his poems at the Memorial Peace Park bandstand on Mental Health Days. Those who knew Jim say he was a nice man who never had a bad word to say about anyone. Jim was a true character around town and will be deeply missed.
So long our sweet, gentle, younger brother, your passing has left an emptiness in our hearts.
Love you always, Kate and John
