It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Joan at Eagle Ridge Hospital after being admitted a few days prior to her passing. She will be remembered with much love by her husband George, son Ian, Daughters Evelyn (Gary) Taylor, Linda (Stephen) Barclay, her grandsons Christopher, (Karen) Taylor, Darren (Lynn) Taylor and her Great Grandchildren, Melissa, Ryan, Jessey and Tristan and many extended family members friends and neighbors. "Lady" will be missed. Joan was a loving caring wife, mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Married to a Canadian Airman during the Second World War in England, she came to Canada as a War Bride. They lived in Winnipeg for many years, moved to London, Ontario for a short time before following their children to Vancouver, BC. Joan gave to many charities, her favorite being the Gospel Mission in Vancouver. She had an adventurous spirit, loved to laugh, travel, visit with family and celebrate joyous occasions such as George and Joan's 60th wedding anniversary and the gathering of her 4 generation family, which she took much pride in. Memorial services will be held Tuesday May 9th at 2:00 PM at First Memorial-Burkeview Chapel 1340 Dominion Ave. Port Coquitlam BC. In lieu of Flowers, donations may be made to the Gospel Mission in Vancouver or a charity of choice.
