It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Dr. John Kirk, a devoted family man, accomplished dentist, and cherished friend. John passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 28, 2024, at the Palliative Care Unit of Ridge Meadows Hospital.
Predeceased by his parents, Jack and Amy, and his loving wife, Sylvia, John is survived by his sister, Carolyn (John); children, John, Amanda (Paul), and Gillian (Jason); and his beloved grandchildren, Mia, Jessica, Mackenzie, Cooper, Maggie, Rylie and Jenna. He is also survived by his longtime companion, Janina and her family.
A graduate of Lord Byng Secondary and McGill University's Dentistry program, John established a successful practice in Coquitlam. He maintained lifelong friendships with his high school and university friends, and especially enjoyed annual gatherings at Yellow Point Lodge.
An avid reader, skilled woodworker, and world traveler, John found joy in exploring new places and meeting people. Above all, he was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren, who brought him love and happiness. Annual family Christmas trips to Florida were amongst his most cherished memories.
John's passing leaves a profound void in the lives of those who knew him. His memory will be cherished and celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.
