John passed away peacefully in hospice on Thursday, September 5, 2019, at 9:05 a.m. John was born to Catherine and Christopher Fleeton (both deceased) in Rivers Inlet, B.C., on August 25, 1935. He was brought into the world by the famous Dr. Darby who travelled by boat up and down the B.C. Coast doctoring to the various residents at that time. He is survived by his loving wife Hazel whom he married in 1959, sons Malcolm (Brenda), and Christopher (Suzanne), two living grandchildren, Elizabeth and Alexander, and twins Anthony and Thomas pre deceased. John is also survived by his brother James Fleeton (Phyllis), nieces Helen Lindstrom (Ian) and Christine Fleeton, and nephews Richard Taylor (Susann) and Mark Taylor (Karen), as well as several great nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved.
He spent many years as an electrician and spent his last few years in the trade at Shaughnessy and Children's Hospital.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Maple Ridge Funeral Home in the Patio room, October 12, 2019 at 1pm. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made in John's name to the Kidney Foundation or BC Cancer Agency.
