It is with our deepest sadness we announce that Johnny passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the age of 84. Predeceased (1974) by his true love, wife, and mother of their children, Mary (nee Huren). Strong and Loving Father of sons Dan (Sarah), and Don (Denise) and daughter Janelle (Kevin). Admired and Cherished Grandfather of Kyle, Sydney and Mackenzie. Predeceased by his Supportive Loving Parents, Eugene and Mary Milan (nee Linkewich). Survived by his caring brothers and sisters, Frank, Lillian, Pauline and Raymond. Johnny was born in St. Paul, Alberta and later moved to Pitt Meadows, B.C. where he and Mary raised their children. Life has many challenges we all must face but Johnny found the strength to strive and carry forward along with his three children. A Hamilton, Ontario job opportunity brought him and his children out to start a new adventure - there his family grew up but always stayed close. Johnny always eager to try new things and challenge himself, he has accomplished a lot through his life that we will continue to be proud of - Dad you have always taught by example. His passions and hobbies included, dancing (as many have shared in his talent for ballroom style), gardening (castor bean champion), cooking (from homemade bread to whipping up a creative dinner with his garden vegetables), travelling to many destinations (motorhome style always his favourite), building and fixing many things (you name it he knew how to make it work) but most of all his family was, in this life and beyond, his never-ending love. Johnny, a man whom once met, you would never forget. Johnny now reunites with his first love, Mary. Pastor Layton Chmelyk will be officiating a Memorial Graveside Service for family and friends held on, Saturday July 13th, 2019, 2 pm at the Maple Ridge Cemetery, 21404 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge followed by a Celebration of Life at 35250 Hazelwood Ave., in Abbotsford.
