1936-2021 ~ On October 4, 2020, Joseph Antalek passed away at the age of 84 after a long battle with cancer. Joe will be forever remembered and forever missed by his family and friends.
A native of Pitt Meadows, Joe was born in 1936 on his family's dairy farm. He attended Pitt Meadows Elementary, and graduated from Maple Ridge Secondary School. After graduation, Joe was hired to work at the City of Pitt Meadows.
He had become the youngest Municipal Clerk in BC history at the age of 20. He continued working for the city of Pitt Meadows for 33 years.
In 1966, he met the love of his life Diana and married in 1981. That same year, Joe received the award for Citizen of the Year.
Joe loved the outdoors and was most passionate about fishing, where he spent many summers out on the ocean with his wife Diana. Hours trolling on their boat named "Hey Joe".
Joe was a devoted Knight and attended St. Patrick's Church. Thank you Father Matthew, and the Knights of Columbus.
Joe is survived by his wife Diana. He is predeceased by his brother Louis, and parents Julia and Constantine. The Antalek Family is grateful to Ridge Meadows Hospital, Dr. Little, Dr. Yu, and Dr. Lim, and to Joe's friends and family that helped Joe fight cancer.
