Kathy-Anne Colwill

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathy Anne Colwill on November 29, 2018 (age 57) at McKenney Creek Hospice in Maple Ridge, B.C.  Predeceased by loving parents Bob and Edna Barker.  Survived by and deeply mourning her loss is her loving husband of 39 Years Steve Colwill,  beloved son Derek, daughter Chantelle, grand children James and Cierra, brothers Dave(Susan), Bob(Lek), John, Michael(Joellen),Paul, Peter, niece Rebecca, nephews Boyd, Ian, Chris, Darin, Jason, Joshua and Ryan, Sisters In-law Susan(John)and Rita and many good friends.

Kathy was born in New Westminster raised in Port Moody and Coquitlam, attended Port Moody Senior Secondary. Kathy started her working life building boats, worked at a butcher shop, restaurant and a commissary prior to finding her calling to be a Baker for Safeway were she worked for over 20 years.

Kathy was an extremely caring individual, always willing to lend a hand. Kathy contributed to the community in many ways, Past President of the Maple Ridge Lions Club, many people would remember Kathy for the meat draws she conducted at By Baily's Pub every Friday and Sunday. Kathy was a proud member of ANAF Branch #379 and RCL Branch #88. Many local charities benefitted greatly from her fundraising efforts, Kathy always gave much more than she took.

The Colwill family would like to express their gratitude to the Maple Ridge Cancer Clinic, Ridge Meadows Hospital and the McKenney Creek Hospice for their exceptional care and support during this challenging time.

We will be honouring Kathy's memory through a Celebration of Life Ceremony on January 5th, 2019, one o'clock located at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #88, 12101 224th St. Maple Ridge, BC. V2X 6B7.
