Kay surrendered her life in the early morning hours of November 1st in Kamloops after a battle with cancer; her son Murray and daughter Connice at her side.
A long time resident of the Maple Ridge / Pitt Meadows area who's dedication as a Welcome Wagon Hostess won her much recognition and many awards including Hostess of the year for the community. She was well known throughout the communities for her welcoming smile, warm heart and listening ear.
She is survived by son Murray (Lori) Peissard of Kelowna, granddaughters Bailey & Courtney Peissard; daughter Connice (Victor) Lagace of Kamloops; grandchildren Amber (Gizzmo) Drinnan of Calgary, Richard Lagace of Prince George, Robert (Marie) Lagace of Kamloops, Chrystal Lagace of Kamloops; great grandchildren Tina & Dino Miconi, Daniel & Kira Wright; great-great grandson Weston; as well cousins, nephews, nieces and friends too numerous to mention.
She is predeceased by her husband Bob, brother Don, sister Dottie, other family members and many friends with whom she has now reunited.
Special thank you goes to the nursing & care staff in the Orchard Grove wing at Overlander Extended Care, Dr Lynne, Dr Gounden, Dr Kwan, and her longtime friend Sandra Lalonde.
By her request, there will be no service. Donations may be made to Ridge Meadows Hospice Society or to the Canadian Cancer Society in Kay's honor.
