It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Kevin Levente Varga announces his passing, at the age of 18, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Kevin was the embodiment of love and joy. He shared his infectious smile, generous laughter, and kind heart with everyone.
Kevin was born and raised in Maple Ridge, BC, where he attended Alouette Elementary School and graduated from Maple Ridge Secondary.
Kevin was a talented athlete, dedicating his passion and efforts on the soccer field and basketball court. He loved to be outdoors and embraced every opportunity for adventure - fishing, hiking, snowboarding, and chasing sunsets. He equally enjoyed downtime with family and friends, with whom he appreciated sharing a good meal and a game of cards.
Mostly, Kevin loved his family and friends with sincerity, purity, and completeness. He will forever and lovingly be remembered by his mom and dad, Janet and Jim, his older brother, Nolan, his cherished dog, Rocky, and cat, Jinny. Kevin will also be forever remembered by his grandpa, Imre Varga, aunt, Lesley Liversidge (Ian), uncle, Steve Wall (Allison), cousins, Claire, Kate, Jacob, and Ryan, and many more extended family members and dear friends. He taught us, by his own example, to cherish each moment and do all things with love, grace, and gratitude.
Kevin's family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to all their friends, the doctors, nurses, and staff of VGH, Vancouver Children's Hospital, BC Cancer Clinic, GF Strong, and Canuck Place for the endless care & compassion they provided. Memorial donations in honour of Kevin may be made to Canuck Place Children's Hospice or a charity of your choice.
