January 7, 1950 - March 12, 2022
With deep sadness we mourn the loss our beloved Larry. After a short, unexpected battle with cancer he passed peacefully March 12 2022 at 72 years.
Larry is survived by his wife Cherryl, sons Chris, Jason (Dawn), Bryan (Krista), and daughter Jennifer (Luke). Grandchildren Vanessa, Kayla, Faith, Scarlett and Jack. Great grandchildren Kayto, Liam, Phoenix, Brielle, Zowiee and a great number of extended family.
Larry was born in North Vancouver and grew up in Maple Ridge with siblings Kathy (RIP), Willy (RIP), Danny, David, Janice, Pat and Mike.
After 2 years in the Navy aboard the HMCS Saskatchewan stationed in Esquimalt (Victoria) BC, Larry spent the next 10 years mastering heavy equipment operation creating the landscapes of many commercial and residential properties in the lower mainland. Larry was a proud member of IUOE Union Local 115 for over 40 years, over 30 of those years at Cewe/Lehigh Hanson in Coquitlam BC where he was known as "Gampa".
Cherryl and Larry retired to Vernon BC in 2020 where he joined LiUNA Union Local 1611. He worked with Fortis, Telus and alongside BC Wildfire Service protecting the area from the devastating White Rock Lake fire.
When Larry wasn't working, in the garden or tinkering with something he could be found at Kalamalka Lake where he very much enjoyed fishing, family swims and tubing. Larry loved to laugh, socialize and always the first to unselfishly offer his time to help others in need. He will be greatly missed by many and forever in our hearts and minds.
We kissed his forehead, held his hand, as he passed peacefully in the presence of Cherryl, Chris, Jason and Dawn.

No service at Larrys' request. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Vernon Jubilee Hospital in his honour.
