Laurence PORTER

PORTER - LAURENCE ROY. March 13, 1939-January 7, 2005. Predeceased by a son Vincent Roy in 1993, parents Roy and Eunice Porter, and a brother Thomas Porter. He leaves to mourn his passing, but grateful he no longer suffers from his battle with cancer, his loving family . Wife of 42 years Carole, daughters Leanne (George) and Terry (Rory), son Steven (Teri), 8 grand- children, Sara, Alicia, Tara, Nicholas, Amanda, Justin, Brooke and Megan. He also leaves his sister Norma Robertson of Calgary, Alta., brother Kenneth Porter (Bev) of Langley, sister-in-law Dianne Porter of Burnaby, mother-in-law Freda Ostertag as well as numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends. Laurence was a Sheet Metal Mechanic (local 280) for 40 years before taking an early retirement at 58 years of age. He then did what he loved to do, build things and repair small engines. There is no service by his request, but friends and family are invited to share in an afternoon tea to remember Laurence. It will be held on Sat. January 15, 2005 from 1 to 4 pm at the Albion Community Hall where he was a member for 25 years. It is located at 10017 - 240 St. Maple Ridge.
