CARTWRIGHT, Laurie. Dad passed away peacefully on Sunday August 11, 2013 at George Derby Veteran's Home. He was born in Chase, British Columbia on October 25, 1919. Predeceased by his loving wife Audrey in 2003 and granddaughter Courtney in 1990. He is survived by his daughters Judy (Bill), Lynn (Rob), son Rick and grandchildren; Cindy, Bradley and Michael. He grew up in Shuswap Lake area and served overseas during WWII. His career as a Faller on the coast ended when he and Audrey bought the Cassidy Hotel on Vancouver Island. There they raised their family and after retirement lived in Edmonton, Chase, Chilliwack and finally Maple Ridge. In 2008 he moved into Greystone Manor where he continued to enjoy cooking and canning. While living there he became very close to residents and staff and his family thank them for support and care till he made his final move to George Derby. After Cremation he and Audrey will be laid to rest in Chase Cemetery.
