Lendrum McAUGHEY

McAughey, Lendrum Sanders

Born August 12, 1920 in Beausejour, Manitoba. Passed away peacefully March 23, 2015 at Ridge Meadows Hospital.

Surrounded by family, he passed as he lived, beside his soulmate of 62 years.

Although a man of few words, his wisdom, love and incredible capacity for compassion was ever evident. As a member of the 5th Canadian Armoured Division, retired Corporal Lendrum McAughey enlisted in the Canadian Army at the age of 15. He was awarded the Defence Medal, 1939-45 Star, the France and Germany Star, and the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal. Lendrum will be greatly missed by his loving wife Doris, daughters; Lynda (Jim), and

Corinne (David), grandchildren; Julie, Gordon, Shannon (Scott), Heather (Matt), and great – grandchildren; Claila and Bryce. Len’s family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Tsui, Dr. Prem-Smith, Judy Binge at Scotiabank, and the wonderful staff at the Valley Fair Mall London Drugs and Save-on-Foods, for the wonderful care, support, and over-all treatment they’ve provided over the years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Maple Ridge Legion branch 88, and condolences can be sent to the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel. A husband. A father, student and mentor. A patriot. A hero. But more importantly… A man of tremendous respect, honour and conviction…

The Best Man
