MERCER ~ Lillian

July 4, 1915 ~ May 17, 2008

Lillian went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2008. Lilly grew up on a homestead in Calgary, Alberta. She married Bill Mercer in Edmonton in 1935 and they moved to B.C. in 1946. They eventually settled in Maple Ridge where Lilly lived for 50 years before moving to Langley in 2000. Loving the outdoors as she did, Lilly spent her summer days in the garden growing fruits and vegetables and tending her beautiful flowers. She was active in the Pentecostal Church in Maple Ridge, serving for many years as church secretary-treasurer and teaching Sunday School. In retirement she enjoyed travelling by motor home to California and Arizona. One of the highlights of her travels was a trip to England , the birthplace of her parents. Predeceased by her husband Bill in 1984, Lilly is survived by son Bill (Linda), Larry (DJ), and daughter Lorraine (Ed), granddaughters Carolyn, Lisa, Lois, Michelle and Trina, her great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, brother Dave (Louise) and sister Nellie and nieces and nephews. Lilly brought so much love and joy into the lives of her family and friends. She will be forever missed. A Celebration of Lilly's life will he held at Christian Life Assembly in Langley on Friday, May 23 at 3:30pm.
