September 28, 1943 - March 29, 2022
Lorna took her final journey on March 29th, 2022, at the age of 78 surrounded by the family she loved. Her body was just too tired to stay, following a courageous fight with cancer.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 55 years, Bob, her kids, Scott (Julia), John (Stephanie), Kelli (Brian), her grandchildren, Brittany (Mitch), Tanner (Maria), Derek, Alyssa (Clayton), Tyler, Darrian (Emily), Shaunavon and her great granddaughter Isla. Along with her sisters, sister and brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews and friends who fought for her and loved her for who she was.
Her love of travel started early right after graduating from Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary when she travelled throughout Europe. Many cruises allowed her to see several parts of the world. Traveling with friends and family were very important to her. She made many lifetime friends in all the provinces she lived in during her 45 plus years in Beta Sigma Phi.
Her years as a volunteer and rules official at golf tournaments throughout the Province with British Columbia Golf were a highlight. She particularly enjoyed her times with the Junior Boys and Girls golf tournaments. She made many friends through British Columbia Golf. She was an avid golfer who loved to play with her "Ladies" and anyone else who was on the Tee. Her love of golf and support for charities led to her organizing 12 years of the Golf 4 A Cure Charity Golf Tournament which raised over $200,000.00 for Cancer Research.
She will be remembered for her "hugs" and being one of a kind. To be known by her and be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
The family will be planning a celebration of life when the weather is warmer, and we can all toast her with a glass of chilled white wine.
