It is with great sadness the family of Marie Antoinette (Tonie) Leach of Maple Ridge, B.C. shares the news of her passing on July 20, 2005 in her 85th year. Tonie is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, George; her two sons, Ken of Calgary(Stephanie, Wendy) and David (Laurene) of Abbotsford; her grand children Jay (Karen), Jennifer and Karen as well as many nieces and nephews. Tonie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and cook extraordinaire with an inner spirit and optimism that defied belief. The family would like to express their appreciation to all the medical and nursing staff who helped Marie cope with her long battle with arthritis. A most special thanks to family members from Port Alberni and the staff of Ward 3 North (especially Jeff) at the Royal Columbian Hospital for their help and kindness at this difficult time.
At Tonie's request no service will be held. Tonie was a devoted supporter and contributor to the New Westminster Chapter of Hip Hip Hooray, a charity that held a special place in Tonie's enormous heart.
