With heavy hearts, we announce that Marilyn has passed away and moved on to heaven after a courageous 8 year long battle with cancer. Pre-deceased by her father Elmer, she leaves behind her husband Murray; daughters Janice and Jennifer; son-in-law Lorne; granddaughters Isla and Keira; and mother Kathleen, brother Don and sister-in-law Marcie; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. After spending her early years riding bikes and swimming in Penticton, Marilyn moved to Vancouver to attend college. From there, she found her way to Maple Ridge where she remained a long time resident and worked as the office manager of a local business for 40 years. Marilyn had a gift for making everything beautiful including her home and garden, food (in abundance) for her family and friends, her artwork, playing the piano and the Christmas songs she made us all sing. She loved a good joke and taught us that laughter is essential for getting through the challenges of life.
A tea of remembrance will be held on Sunday, June 23rd at 2 pm at the Fraserview Village Banquet Hall, 22610 116th Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cythera Transition House Society.
