It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marilyn Styba of Pitt Meadows, BC on April 10, 2016. Marilyn was born in Vancouver, BC December 14, 1949. She grew up in Calgary during her very early years with her younger brother Ken Rye, and moved back to Vancouver meeting her loving husband Hilarry (Larry) Styba in 1966 when he came out west from the family homestead in Roblin, MB. They were married on Friday the 13th, 1967 and were just a few months shy of their 50th wedding anniversary. Marilyn worked as a Health Care Aide at Parkridge Private Hospital in Maple Ridge, BC and eventually moved to Riverview Hospital in Coquitlam, BC, where she spent well over 25 years as a Healthcare Worker and then as a Ward Clerk. Marilyn is survived by her husband Larry Styba of Pitt Meadows, BC, son Larry James (Rosemary) Styba of Pitt Meadows, BC, granddaughter Emily Rose Styba and grand dog “Toast.” Marilyn is also survived by her brother Ken (Patricia) Rye of Pitt Meadows, BC, nephews Keith (Caleigh) Rye of Maple Ridge, BC, Scott Rye (Madeleine) of Thetis Island, BC and Darrell (Vanessa) Rye of Pitt Meadows, BC, and the sparkle in Marilyn’s eyes whenever she saw her greatnephew Mack Rye. Survived by her Manitoba family; sisters-in-law Annie Styba, Love Bugera, Wilna Styba of Roblin, MB, Elizabeth Styba of Markham, ON and Mary Hurley of Red Deer, AB, brother-in-law Stan Radwanski of Roblin, MB. Marilyn was predeceased by her mother Edith Blanche Rye in (1984). A service will be held for Marilyn at 12:00 noon April 28th, 2016 at Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel 11969 216 Street, Maple Ridge, BC. Celebration of Life will be held following the Memorial at 1:30 pm at Meadow Highlands Hall 11892 Ponderosa Blvd, Pitt Meadows, BC.
