After living a long, fulfilling life we would like to announce the peaceful passing of our Mom, Nana and the matriarch of our family on Nov 25, 2017 at the TRIM unit in Mission. We are elated that she will now be able to join her husband Jock and her grandson Rick to forever play 18 holes in the sky.
Mary was born to Thomas (Bob) and Charlotte Morris in New Westminster, BC. In Mary's early years Bob was head of the lab at Essondale and the family resided there. As a youth the family moved to a farm at Burke Mountain. Mary was a May Queen in Port Coquitlam in her youth. She married Jock Anderson in 1940 and they raised their daughter Sharen on the family farm in Pitt Meadows.
Mary and Jock enjoyed golfing, they were original members of the Pitt Meadows Golf Club, numbers 4 & 5, they spent their winters as snowbirds until Jock passed away in 1986. Mary continued to enjoy a happy and active life after Jock passed away by golfing and playing bridge and spending precious hours with her friends and family. Mary was often thought of as quite a "character".
Mary is survived by daughter Sharen (Martin) Parkinson, grandchildren, Marnie (Vince), Susan (Randy), Lori (Len), Morris (Tracy), Crystal and daughter-in-law Sonya, and step-granddaughter Patti, 13 Great grandchildren and 18 Great -Great grandchildren with two more on the way and 2 Great Great-Great grandchildren.
Mary was also survived by several nieces and nephews that were dear to her.
Mary was predeceased by, her husband of 46 years Jock Reid Anderson, cherished grandson Rick Parkinson, son in law Douglas Parkinson, brother Tom Morris and sister Dodie Corner.
Mary spent her last years at the Westbrooke in Pitt Meadows and the TRIM Unit in Mission, the family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff at both of these centres for the care they extended to her.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to a charity of your choice in her name or to the Rick Parkinson Junior Golf Program at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club.
A celebration of Mary's Life will be held at the Pitt Meadows Golf Club on April 22, 2018 at 1:00 pm.
