WILLIS – MARY “HAZEL”. The family wishes to announce with great sadness, the sudden passing of our mother, on May 13th, 2005. Hazel was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba on May 16th, 1921, and was a longtime resident of Maple Ridge, B.C. and Webster’s Corner. Hazel was an avid gardener, seamstress and baker, volunteering her time and talents in the community at Webster’s Corner Church and School. Hazel’s children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were the apple of her eye. She loved to travel with her husband Len, and had many wonderful memories of their travels together throughout the world. Hazel was a loving and cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was predeceased by her first husband John Stubbs (1941), her second husband Leonard Willis (1991) of 44 years, and her eldest grandson Steven Willis (1995). Left to cherish her memory are sons: Doug (Bonnie), Mission; Bob (Marianne), Maple Ridge; Ken (Anna), Maple Ridge; daughters: Joan (Jouko) Astren, Ladysmith; and Betty Adams, Mission; grandchildren: Shannon (Andrew) Haig; Jeff (Cathy); Kevin (Lindsey); Michael (Erin); David; Gina; Shari; Jarrad Astren; Jennifer and Kayla Adams. Great-grandchildren: Connor; Alex; Dawson; Logan; Ava; Hayley; Emery; and Tyler.

A memorial and celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 19th, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. in the MAPLE RIDGE FUNERAL CHAPEL (Osborn’s), 11969 - 216th Street, Maple Ridge, B.C. Irish Wake to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kinsmen Rehabilitation Foundation, Children’s Hospital Foundation, Maple Ridge Hospital Foundation, or Canadian Cancer Society of Vancouver.
