It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Maureen Bernadette Grill (nee O'Shea), a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many. Born in Cahersiveen, County Kerry, Ireland to John and Kathleen O'Shea, Maureen's life was filled with compassion, adventure, and dedication to her family.
Maureen's early years were marked by her ambition and care for others. After earning her nursing degree in London, England she embarked on a remarkable journey as a traveling nurse, serving communities across Australia, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.
It was in Canada where she found her home but also the love of her life, Sieg Grill. They settled in Maple Ridge, BC and spent 57 wonderful years together.
For over four decades, Maureen served as a dedicated nurse at Ridge Meadows Hospital, where her warmth and expertise touched countless lives. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her family were her hallmarks.
She leaves behind her husband, Sieg, and their children Daniel (Lisa), Graham (Kimberly), and Erin (Darren), as well as her brother Donal (Mary) in Ireland and her sister Peggy in England. She was a proud nana to Bella, Gabby, Collette, and Sienna, all of whom will carry forward her legacy of love and kindness.
Maureen will be remembered for choosing a cup of tea over being on time, her infectious smile around her family, her unwavering support, and the light she brought to those around her. Her legacy of love, strength, and determination will continue to inspire those who knew her.
In accordance with Maureen's wishes, a small private gathering of family and friends will be held to celebrate her life.
