It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Maurice Gauthier. Born in Manitoba he was predeceased by his father Adelard. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 35 years Maureen; son Trevor (Dana); granddaughter Mikinley; son Ryan (Cindy); mother Agnes and sister Mary May. He was a treasured "son"-in-law to Joe and Monica; "brother"-in-law to Bev & Don, and Pat & Karen; Uncle and Great Uncle to many. Maurice was a dedicated employee at Hammond Interfor where he worked for 18 years and leaves behind countless friends. While Maurice loved hockey and his time with "The Icemen", it was his love of sports and dedication to his family that was highlighted in 1999, when he coached his son Ryan's team "The Cardinals" to win the BC Championships, and then the Gold at the Nationals in Ontario. Prayers will be held at 7pm on Weds, Aug 3 at St. Lukes Catholic Church, 20285 Dewdney Trunk, Maple Ridge, BC with a celebration of Moe's life at 10:30am Thurs, Aug 4 at the same address. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ridge Meadows Baseball Association, P.O. Box 66, Maple Ridge, BC V2X 7E9, or the BC Cancer Society.
