Melva LEPPA

LEPPA, Melva Lea Mabel (nee Holpainen). Melva passed away on July 13, 2014 at Ridge Meadows Hospital. She was born at home on Section 7-18-W2nd, Saskatchewan on November 18, 1927. She moved to BC in 1938 and went to school in Port Kells. She began her working career at the Esco foundry. Melva married Roy Leppa in 1949 and moved to their farm in Macrorie, Saskatchewan, first living in the granary because the original house had burned down. They farmed there for many years, often spending their winters with family in Webster’s Corner. Melva and Roy moved to Webster’s Corner full time in the 1980’s. Melva was devoted to caring for her sister Esther, with whom she had a special relationship. Melva was predeceased by her parents, her husband Roy and her sister Esther. She is survived by many cousins in Canada and Finland. A Celebration of Life will be held at Melva’s house on August 9th, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Address: 25915 124th Ave., Maple Ridge, BC.
