Mildred GLENN

Mildred Phyllis Glenn

February 18, 1939 – July 22, 2017

Mildred (Millie) of Pitt Meadows, BC passed away peacefully with family at her side at the age of 78. Millie was

born in Regina, Saskatchewan. She had five brothers and four sisters. At a young age, Millie moved with her family to the Vancouver area and in 1956 she married her love, Morton (Mort) Glenn.

They had four sons; James (Jim), Leonard (Len), Joseph (Joe), and Randy.

Millie loved her family and was the ultimate homemaker. While Mort was busy providing for the family as a truck driver, Millie was busy providing for the boys at home. She was involved in their activities at church, cubs, and scouts. Fond memories are recalled of Millie packing up the boys for a picnic and a day of fishing. She was an accomplished seamstress, knitter and crocheter. Over the years, she took great pleasure in making items for family and friends and her sweaters, hats, blankets and baby outfits will be forever cherished.

In earlier years, Millie worked for Super Valu and was head of the bakery department. She was renown for making and decorating beautiful wedding cakes with pictures showcased in a photo album of her talented creations. The family would get together and look forward to Millie’s delicious dinners and deserts. She loved preparing meals for her family and “Nana’s” homemade pie and cheese cake was the best! She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Millie is predeceased by her loving husband Mort, who passed away on April 2, 2017; son Randy, grandson Jamie, and great granddaughter Valencia. She is also predeceased by her parents; brothers Jim, Floyd, and Corky; and sister Luella. She is survived by her sons Jim (Caroline), Len (Cathy), and Joe; seven grandchildren and two step grandchildren along with spouses and long time boyfriends. She also leaves behind one great grandson and one step great granddaughter; brothers Len (Dianne), and Milton; sisters Darleen (John), Linda, and Pat (Ron); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.

Please join us in a celebration of her life on Saturday, August 26th, 2017 from 2pm to 5pm at Hammond Community Centre, 20601 Westfield Ave., Pitt Meadows, BC,(right beside Larry Walker field).
