It is with great sadness the family of Marie Morris (Griffin) announce her sudden passing on November 10, 2010 in her 88th year. Marie was born April 13th, 1922 (Good Friday), in Champion Alberta. Marie is survived by her children Sandra (Chuck) Richardson, Brian (Rosemary) Gilfoy, Susan (Daryl) McNeill, Cindy (Chris) Vipond, Judy (Jim) Holtjer and her many loving grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marie was pre-deceased by her devoted husbands Donald Morris and Ernie Griffin. Marie ‘Granny’ had a contagious zest for life and especially loved Bingo, gardening, travelling, and playing cards; notably being a Duplicate Bridge ‘Grand Master’. Marie was an active member of the Women’s Auxillary in the Maple Ridge Legion Branch 88. She resided in Haney with her husband Don and their daughters Susan, Cindy and Judy in Haney, while working at their family business “Morris Electric.” She was very sad to leave behind her numerous long-time close friends in Haney, when she moved to the Okanagan in 1998 to be closer to her children and grandchildren. Marie’s life was celebrated by a memorial service held at Mountainview Village on November 15, 2010. Mountainview was Marie’s home for the past 3 years; she always commented how well she was cared for and how much she loved the staff. The family wish to extend sincere gratitude to all the special individuals that cared so well for her. Marie’s Memorial was officiated by Chaplain Terje Ness of MVV, The Good Samaritan Society. Terje was very involved in Marie’s life at MVV and was instrumental in navigating the family through this difficult time.
