TOWNSEND – MILDRED. 1936 – 2005.
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mildred on June 4th, 2005. She was very courageous with her 8 month battle with cancer. Her family was at her side. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Doug, daughter Linda (Rick), son Dan (Shelley) and daughter Sandy (Blaire); her grandchildren, Leah, Sam, Devin, Jared, Ryan, Bradley and Mariah. She is also survived by sisters Laura (Jack), Audrey (Al) and Dianne. Mildred was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. As a young girl she enjoyed roller-skating and dancing. Her hobbies included gardening, bowling, playing cards, and she enjoyed visits to the casino. Doug and Mildred celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in April. They lived in many areas of the province, and enjoyed traveling throughout the world meeting many friends along the way. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B.C. Cancer Society or charity of your choice. Our family would like to thank all the medical staff for their kindness and support. A Memorial to celebrate Mildred’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M.
