TRETHEWAY, Nancy Elizabeth (nee Wall),

Elizabeth's family is saddened to announce Elizabeth passed peacefully in her sleep on the 6th of June, 2014 during her ninetieth year. Elizabeth is predeceased by her sister Muriel Wall Leurey and her brother David Edward Wall (Margaret). She is survived by; stepdaughters, Gail Pearce (Cam) and Sharon Stewart (Ken), and six grandchildren, nephews Allan Leurey (Sue), Michael Wall, nieces Michele Caruso (John) and Andrea Wall (Vitor). She has seven great grand nieces and nephews. Elizabeth grew up in the Kerrisdale area of Vancouver and spent many an enjoyable summer at the family property near Parksville on Vancouver Island. She graduated from UBC with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1954, and worked at B.C. Electric cost accounting department. She then turned her considerable skills to volunteer work, on the board of the Vancouver YWCA from 1960 to 1971, and was the President of the Board in 1970-71. She was also very active in the University Women's Club in Vancouver.

She married Richard Trethewey in 1979 and moved to Maple Ridge. Elizabeth actively worked with Richard starting up Ducks Unlimited chapters all over BC. Elizabeth continued her volunteer and charity work until late in life. She will be remembered by those in the community as a tireless volunteer, organizer and patron. She will be remembered by her family as a supportive and caring person who assisted greatly in the education endeavors of the children of her extended family. A Service for Elizabeth will be held at 2:00 pm on July 5th at St. John's the Divine Hall, 21299 River Road Maple Ridge, BC.
