NORMAN, Olaf "Vergil"

The family of Vergil announces the passing of their father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend on December 16, 2009 in Maple Ridge. He was born November 3, 1917 in Donalda, Alberta and moved to BC in 1937 where he worked in the lumber industry and developed his millwright trade. He met his wife to be Anna in Tahsis BC and was married in 1952. After 5 children they decided to move to Haney BC where the 6th was born. Vergil continued his millwright trade at Whonnock Mill until his retirement in 1981. Virgil's life was kept busy with his family and around the property on Dewdney Trunk Road. He was predeceased by an infant granddaughter in 1987 and his beloved Anna in 2001 after 49 years. His life was full. He leaves behind 6 children; Linda (Robert), Debbie (Ken), Brenda (Mike), Jim (Lee), Patricia (John), and David (Linda), 13 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren and many relatives in Alberta. This quiet, dignified, unassuming man had a good life as he described it and at last has been reunited with his Anna. We would like to thank the staff of Ridge Meadows Hospital for their care of Vergil in his last days. Funeral Service was held 1PM on Tuesday December 22nd at Garden Hill Funeral Chapel 11765-224th Street Maple Ridge. In lieu of flowers donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
