Olive Wilson

WILSON - Olive Mary, died peacefully at Creekside Manor in Maple Ridge on March 29th. She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children, Hugh Trevor(John), Drusilla Ann (Bruce), and Leigh Valerie (Dan). She was predeceased by her husband, Hugh Gordon, in 1999. Olive was born in 1915, in Eastbourne, England. As a young woman she moved to India, and when war broke out, she joined the British army achieving the rank of Major. In 1948 Olive emigrated to Canada, settling in Penticton with her young family. The family later moved to Victoria, and in 1962 moved to Maple Ridge, where she lived until her death.

Olive worked as a travel agent in Maple Ridge for many years, until her retirement. She was active in her Church and in the community, and was involved in the development of the Golden Ears Retirement Centre which came to fruition in 1975. Olive's passions were her children and her dogs. In addition, she loved the company of friends, gardening, cooking, reading, and keeping a diary.

She will be remembered fondly by her friends, former clients and co-workers, and her extended family at Creekside. The family especially wishes to extend their thanks to the staff of Creekside for their kindness, care and understanding over the past few years.
