October 29, 1929 - December 28, 2020
Beloved Mom, Grandma, Great- Grandma, Sister, Aunt, friend and neighbour.
Predeceased by husband Roland in 1996 and survived by her children Janice and Eric (Helen) Benner, granddaughter Allana (Sam) Shumka, grandson Bryan and great-grandchildren Anna and Gabriel Shumka and many other relatives in Alberta, B.C. and Italy.
Mom loved her garden and yard and took delight in working outside. She was always proud to show her work and had many plant sales.
Like her close sister Cathy, mom was able to get her wish of staying in her own home.
Mom grew up in Opal, Alberta, one of eight kids that spoke Ukranian at home. In the mid-fifties, she moved to Port Coquitlam with her sisters Jean and Cathy and was married soon after.
In 1959 her young family moved to a newly built house in Maple Ridge (then called Hammond ) where she happily lived for the remainder of her life. She was a friend of generations of neighbourhood kids who visited and called her Pearl. She was a character and is missed by everyone that knew her.

Forever remembered,
Forever Loved.
