Phyllis Melissa CLAYTON

October 30, 2008

CLAYTON, Phyllis Melissa

Born in Elbow, Saskatchewan March 1st 1917 passed away peacefully on Oct 30, 2008.

Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-great grandmother. Survived by her loving husband Geoff Clayton, sons Harvey Gates (Pat) David Gates (Lynda) daughters Wave Nick (Joe) Linda Pow (Ernest) Valerie Shardlow (John). Predeceased by her son Michael Gates. Phyllis's early years as a single parent with six young children was very hard for her, but anything that challenged her or her family she took on with great loyalty to her children and an intelligent flare for a solution.

Phil has lived in Maple Ridge for forty-two years at the same location, down near Davison's Pool and loved the surrounding environment with a passion that was only exceeded by her love for her husband and family. Of course, part of her family was our dog Chester too.

Phil was always Geoff's supporting inspiration for all his environmental endevours and therefore for what ARMS may be seen to have accomplished in this community Phil had a big, but silent part.

Her family and friends will treasure her memories and will always remember her wit, pleasantry and warming smile to all who crossed her path.

There will be no formal funeral. There will be a celebration of Phil's life held on Nov.16th at our home, between 2 & 4 pm, for family & invited guests only.
