November 23, 1941 - February 1, 2025

Ray died peacefully at home with his daughter, Tracy, by his side. In his own words, "I'm off on my next big adventure". Ray is survived by his daughter, Tracy (Jon) and his son Darwin (Lee) and his grandchildren, Edie, Fin, Gavyn, and Bethany. He is also survived by his sister Eldina, and brother Walt and their families. Ray was born in New Westminster, BC and grew up in Maple Ridge, BC. He spent time living in Vernon, BC, Indonesia, and Sooke, BC before settling in Victoria, BC. He spent much of his life travelling for work in the mining industry. He visited Jamaica, Wales, Yukon, Greenland, Thailand, and numerous other places.

Upon his retirement he spent his time socializing in local coffee shops, gaming, and visiting with his grandchildren. He was especially proud of being able to watch his grandchildren grow to be adults. He was always honourable and dignified and had a laugh until the end. He was loved by many.

Special thanks to the nursing staff at VIHA for their amazing care over the last year.

A celebration of life will take place at Golden Ears United Church in Maple Ridge, BC on Saturday March 8th, 2025, at 1:00pm

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Mental Health Recovery Partners South Island in memory of Ray.
