March 22, 1925 – October 22, 2018
Late of Maple Ridge, BC, age 93 years. Predeceased by his sisters, Sharon and Gail and brother Doug. Survived by his loving family, wife Helga; daughter Carol (Rich) Croin; son Randy (Charlene); 2 grandsons, Scott and Mitch; and sister Lorraine. Dick was a long time Haney/Maple Ridge resident.
He had many adventures working at the logging camp at the head of Pitt Lake, then with his dad and brother operating the Shell Station at 227th and Dewdney Trunk Rd. He took his family and lived all across BC operating Service Stations, and then returned to Maple Ridge in 1974, where he became a realtor. Dick was always ready for a family gathering and especially summer barbecues where he would look after the grill. During the week he could be seen walking through town stopping to chat with old friends and new.
He will be missed by friends and family.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 pm at the Maple Ridge Funeral Chapel (Osborn’s), 11969-216th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, would be appreciated.
