March 20, 1950 - March 2, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Robert (Bob) Erskine on March 2 .
He was predeceased by his parents John and Eileen Erskine, and brother David.
He is survived by his brother Harry Erskine(Sue), sister Peggy Stacy(Tom) and sister Sheila Patt(Garry), sister-in-law Cindy Erskine, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Born March 20th 1950 in New Westminster, Robert was the 3rd of 5 children. His first years were in South Westminster, and in 1955 the family moved to Albion, and lived on the farm next to Albion Elementary.
In 1962 they moved to the subdivision across from Blue Mountain Elementary and Garibaldi High school. His first job out of high school was at the Land Registry office in New West which he retired from in 2005.
Robert will be remembered by many for his love of baking. He was well know for his baskets of baking being dropped off to some lucky person in town. He liked to frequent pubs and a few of his favourites over the years were The Office, Black Sheep, and Shooters (beside the Keg).
Robert lived most of his life in Maple Ridge until March 2020 when he moved into Hawthorne care centre in PoCo. There he enjoyed meeting new people, playing crib and bridge, puzzles, and reading any books he could get his hands on.
Our family would like to express our gratitude to the staff and doctors at Hawthorne and Eagle Ridge Hospital for their care of Robert- Thank you.
