In loving memory ~
Robbie to old friends and family
It is with great sadness, a breaking heart and grief that I announce the passing of the love of my life, my very best friend and husband, Bob. Bob passed away July 17, 2022 at the age of 82 after two months in the hospital with pneumonia.
Bob was born in Vancouver in 1940 and is survived by Sharon, his wife of 58 years, brother Don and his wife Diane, nieces Heather and Patty, nephews Jamie and Don, great nieces and nephews and Sharon's cousin Barry. Bob was predeceased by his parents June and Don and sister Vicki.
Bob married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, in Calgary in 1964. He attended Western Canada High School and SAIT. He worked in the trucking industry for 43 years and had an incredible work ethic, integrity and loyalty. Bob and Sharon moved to Victoria, Vancouver, Winnipeg, back to North Vancouver and settled in Pitt Meadows in 1970.
He coached minor football for 14 years, girls softball, oor hockey, enjoyed boating, fishing, scuba diving, playing the guitar, gardening, feeding birds and squirrels in the back yard, making wine, was a power lifter, went to the gym faithfully and belonged to the Kinsmen Club. He worked many years on Pitt Meadows Day and was the Parade Marshal for a few years. He enjoyed diving in Hawaii for many years and had very special friends there.
In 1987 he started his business as a freight broker and when he retired he and Sharon took up cruising to Alaska, Europe, the Caribbean and gambling in Vegas. He was famous for wearing shorts until December, longer if he could. Bob was always chatting to someone even if it was strangers in a lineup. You could depend on that. He always had a great sense of humour and a kind heart.
To Linda, Doug, Lynn, Scott and family, Sherri, Barry and all our thoughtful and kind friends and neighbours - Thank You for being there.
We have had a lifetime of wonderful memories and enjoyed a life of exceptional friends, travel, fun and love. Bob, I love you very, very, very much and will miss you forever. Love Sharon. XOXO.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to The Healthy Heart Program at Burnaby Hospital in Bob's memory at www.bhfoundation.ca/ donate or to the Salvation Army.
A celebration to honour Bob's life will be announced at a later date.
