SYMONS. Robert D. Oct. 2 1931 ~ Sept. 1 2011. Robert Symons died peacefully in his sleep on Sept 1st 2011, just one month short of his 80th birthday. Robert moved into St. Michael’s Care Facility 7 years ago following a series of small strokes that left him in a wheel chair. His caregivers wondered whether this was the right decision for him at the time. It took only a short time to see that Robert found his home with the staff and the residents of St. Michael’s. He was well liked and well cared for. Robert became popular in this care facility with both staff and families of the other residents, who often expressed their fondness for Robert. Robert could never offend a single person and he was genuinely happy. He loved so much and touched many lives. Robert’s favourite activities were socializing over a coffee, snoozing in the sunshine, and playing his favourite sport, checkers. All that dared challenge him understood how sharp he could be! Robert’s life has been a gift to all of us and we will miss him dearly. Good bye friend.
