WEST ~ Robert Wallace

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Robert (Bob) Wallace West (58) on December 26, 2007, at his home in Maple Ridge, B.C. Loving and missing him are his children Danielle and Trevor West of Nanaimo, B.C.; Zachary West and ex-wife Debbie West of Billings, MT. Bob is also survived by his brother Don West of Denver, CO; his sister Suzanne (Greg) Grooms of Broken Arrow, OK. Bob will be missed by his niece Lindsay Grooms, nephew Tyler Grooms, many relatives and numerous friends whose lives he touched and made a difference in. He was pre- deceased by his parents Mary Lou and Wallace Robert West of Montana.
Bob was raised in Montana and attended Montana State University. He graduated with a Bachelors of Science in 1973 and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bob married Debbie in 1972 and they moved to B.C. where they raised their family. Bob became a Chartered Accountant in 1978 and worked at Wolrige Mahon LLP before venturing into the land development business.
In the later years, Bob’s time was spent helping people, fishing and doing renovations. Bob was a man of many skills and much knowledge. Bob enjoyed computers, hockey, hunting, fishing, playing ball and coaching. Bob loved the companionship and team spirit of his children’s hockey and softball days. He spent countless hours coaching his daughter’s softball team and helped lead them to many successful and memorable seasons; as well as endless early morning hockey practices. Without complaint, he faced the challenges of his life with courage, strength, determination and humour.
A memorial service will be held Friday, January 11, 2008, 2P.M., at Burquitlam Funeral Home, 625 North Road, Coquitlam BC. The family invites you to share your memories during the service. We would like to thank everyone for their support and help during this sad time.
