Rosemary Kildale

May 11, 2018

May 11, 2018
It is with immense sadness that we must announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Rosemary Kildale on Friday May 11th 2018.

Rosemary was born in Canterbury England. Due to WWII, she spent her childhood and adolescence with various foster families in Wales. She attended the London School of Economics and Political Studies before leaving the UK for North America. She came to Canada in the early 1970s and became a Canadian citizen, and she loved her chosen country deeply.

Rosemary was an intelligent, passionate, curious, and exceedingly generous person. She loved animals and the natural world deeply and believed in the value of kindness. She was a dedicated reader, with a love of history in particular, and an amazing baker (her pies were particularly beloved). She loved, amongst other things, cats, tea, knitting, arguing about politics, and watching the birds and squirrels from her home.

Rosemary is survived by: her two brothers Peter Bonnage and David Bonnage; her three children Robin Carpentier, Donna Ferguson, and Elizabeth (Eilis) Carpentier; her three grandchildren Maylet Carpentier, Darah Ferguson, and Gemma Ferguson; her great-grandson, Everett Reyda; and by numerous dear friends and extended family.

She is predeceased by her beloved cat, Paddington, who we can only hope is waiting for her on the other side.

We will miss her very much.
