Roxie, age 73, formerly of Maple Ridge and Coquitlam, passed away at home in Fall River, Nova Scotia on September 28, 2022.
Many in Maple Ridge will recall her friendly, welcoming, presence on the fragrance counter of Shoppers Drug Mart, where she worked for many years before retirement.
After the passing of her husband Verne in 2016, she moved from Maple Ridge to be closer to her immediate family in Nova Scotia. There, many happy memories were made with her daughter and grandchildren before becoming suddenly ill earlier this year.
She is remembered fondly for her fun, outgoing personality, her positive outlook on life and, of course, her funky, spiky, platinum blonde hairdo. She had a way of making everyone she met feel good in her presence - she enjoyed their uniqueness and accepted them just as they were.
She loved music, going to the theatre, gardening, and being in nature. She could often be seen singing to the birds, talking to the squirrels, and looking under rocks for little creatures. She lived in the moment and appreciated all the small, simple things that most others took for granted.
Preceded in death by her husband Kenneth Verne Johnson, her mother Willa Fraser (Borhaven), father Eugene Fraser, and younger sisters Adele Burbridge and Dianne Fraser.
She is survived by her daughter Hollie Ferrall (Gunning), grandchildren Grace, Fraser and Joshua, her siblings Jo, Gene, Craig and James Fraser, nieces Nikkita and Summer, and nephews John and James.
Roxanne was cremated and an intimate ceremony with family and close friends will be organized at a later date.
