WINSTON ~ Roy
Roy passed gently into the night on November 12th, 2007. He was born in 1912 in Manchester England. He was predeceased by his sister, his parents Carl Winston and Mary Cahan, his first wife Gertrude Ruth Schott and his second wife Hella Jean Bartolo.
Roy moved from Malta to B.C and a year ago received his permanent Canadian residence. Since his arrival he traveled to various parts of his adopted country, taking in the beauty and history of this great land called Canada.
A rare gem of a gentleman he leaves to mourn his only brother Norman and his wife Mitzie in the U.K. Mary Anne Muscat and Joan Partridge of Maple Ridge his new loving family and constant companions, as well as his many nephews, nieces and in laws in the U.S.A., Toronto and the U.K. He will also be greatly missed by all his new found friends in Maple Ridge who were inundated with the stories that he had to tell.
Our heartfelt thanks to Doctors Marais, Bartel and Auersperg, as well as the nursing staff on the 2nd floor of the Ridge Meadows Hospital. You guys were great and helped us immensely with our loss.
At Roy's request there will be no funeral. In lieu of flowers a donation to the Maple Ridge Hospice Society (604) 463-7722 or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
