In loving memory ~

With thankfulness we praise God for the life of Ruth Catherine Larmor.

Born July 28th, 1927 in Chesley, Ontario, her parents Evelyn and Roy Geiger and siblings Gordon and Mary served the church in eastern Canada for many years.

Known as Bunny to her husband John Larmor, we can only imagine their heavenly reunion after seventeen years apart. Mom met Dad, in Galt, Ontario in 1954 and were married on July 9th 1955 in Fort Erie.

Faith and family meant everything to Mom; as her children, Kathleen, Heather and Kirby, Roger and Shayna, we bear witness to the legacy she leaves behind. Mom adored being a grandma to her 16 grandchildren and GG to 12 great grandbabies. Although physical distance may have kept Mom separated from some in her growing family, phone calls and social media updates provided delight, along with an abundance of photos.

A passionate and dedicated educator, mom ensured her grandchildren were well equipped to enter kindergarten, this also included an introduction to music. Ruth became a primary school teacher after completing Teachers College in Hamilton, Ontario at the age of 19.

In 1971, Ruth, John and their young family, set off for adventure to the Westcoast. Ruth furthered her education, attending SFU prior to joining the staff team at Betty Huff Elementary School in Surrey, B.C.

As a kindergarten teacher, Ruth knew firsthand her role and responsibility to instill a zest for learning for young and impressionable minds. Her playful spirit, creativity and exuberance, lovingly remembered by former students as noted on Mrs. Larmor's social media.

Having a servant's heart, Mom supported many initiatives whether it be in Maple Ridge or oceans away. As grandma, Ruth could be found front row at music recitals, sporting events or school plays.

Friendships meant the world to mom, her life impacted by so many kind and generous neighbours. When Ruth became a little less active, cookies were the start to many meaningful conversations.

Ruth's family is grateful for the outpouring of support. Stories pertaining to mom's sense of humor, infectious laugh, drama productions, bringing a goat to school (Toyota- backseat) when it was time to study farm animals, are reminders of Ruth's character.

At the heart of it, mom loved Jesus and she would want to ensure that His Story was apart of her story. Although we miss our mom, grandma and GG, we delight knowing that dad's Bunny is in the presence of her Lord and Saviour.

Ruth would want to acknowledge family living around the globe and in Chilliwack; making special mention of the Koemsted family. Although the family tree shows that she didn't birth you, in mom's heart you were all her offspring. Thank you for your dedication and acts of love.
