Ruth passed away peacefully into the presence of her Lord on June 9, 2021.
Survived by daughter Joy (Len), son Colin, beloved grandchildren Brayden and Kendall (Emeril).
Predeceased by her husband Murray and all her siblings (Garnet, Irene Labelle, Lucille Knapp, Raine Dewar, Jesse and Ken). Ruth was born in Hythe, Alberta and was very proud to be the first in her family to graduate from high school.
She attended Peace River Bible Institute and then entered nurses training in Montreal in preparation for Missionary work in the Belgian Congo (Zaire).
She served a total of 12 years with WEC in Congo, fleeing the country in 1961. Ruth was an active member of the Maple Ridge Baptist Church and loved singing in the Church Choir.
An avid gardener, a prolific needle crafter and a wicked scrabble player, she always had a smile and kind word for everyone she met.
Many thanks to Maple Ridge Seniors Village for the care staff provided to Mom over the last 10 years.
Graveside service was held June 17 at 10:30 am at Maple Ridge Cemetery.
