FINSETH - Ruth Elizabeth Finseth passed away peacefully on October 30, 2012 in the wonderful care of the Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody. She had a lengthy struggle with lymphoma & dementia. Born Ruth Hall in September 1924 to Charles and Marie Hall of Clanwilliam, Manitoba, she moved to Vancouver in 1941 at the tender age of 17 – she attended business school, helped her aunt and uncle raise their two children and through her involvement with the Lutheran Church met her husband Mal Finseth. They married in 1949 and raised 3 sons - Greg, Rick and Kevin - mainly at their awesome family home in Maple Ridge. She is survived by her sons, her daughters-in-law Claudia & Jan and her grandchildren Eric, Sarah, Sonia and Theo. Ruth was a careful, cautious person who never wasted anything. She was generous with her family and friends. She was kind, patient and accepting of what life had to offer. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years in Maple Ridge. She was an active bowler and walker until the age of 87. And she remained active in the Lutheran Church. She lived a full, independent life right up til the end. She will be missed by her sons, her extended family and all the friends she made along the way. A memorial service in her honour will be held at King Of Life Lutheran Church 1198 Falcon Drive, Coquitlam on Saturday November 10 @ 11 am. Lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers please donate to Crossroads Hospice Society, Port Moody. Condolence may be sent to
