Shaun Healy, age 51, formerly of Maple Ridge, passed away suddenly 9 October 2018 at his residence.
Born on 14 March 1967 in Toronto, he was the son of Kevin and Dianne Healy. After graduating from Garibaldi Secondary in Maple Ridge in 1985, he joined the Canadian Forces as an Armoured Soldier and upon completion of basic training, was posted to the 8th Canadian Hussars. He served from 1985 to 1995, including a tour in Croatia and a posting to CFB Lahr, German. After releasing in 1995, he returned to Maple Ridge and joined his brother in a contracting business for Canada Post. In 2003 he decided to change careers and joined the Correction Services of Canada. He spent his Corrections career at Kent, Matsqui and Pacific Institutions.
Shaun is survived by his wife, Kim, son, Jamie, daughter, Alexandra, parents Kevin and Diane, sister, Tammy (Doug) Strangward, brother Shan, nephews Shane (Laura) and Jesse and countless aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be on 27 October from 2 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 88 at 12101 223 Street, Maple Ridge.
