Shirley Margaret Burnet was born in Victoria, BC to Margaret and Jack Andrews. Shirley spent her childhood in Powell River and Vancouver before relocating to Maple Ridge where she would meet her husband, Floyd. Shirley and Floyd were married December 12th, 1964 and shared two children, Lisa and Desmond.
In1982, Shirley began a twenty-six year career with the Correctional Service of Canada. She spent her retirement years travelling the world, mainly by cruise ship with her husband. Shirley was an avid reader, gardener, and an active member of the local volunteer community. She enjoyed yoga, crib, and walks with her rescue dog, Mary.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, Sister and friend. She is predeceased by her parents and brother, John Andrews. Shirley leaves behind her husband Floyd, daughter Lisa, son Des, brother Vernon (Helen), granddaughter Alyson, grandson Theo, great-granddaughter Leni, nieces and nephews, cousins by the dozens, and too many friends to count. Shirley will be deeply missed.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
