Sidney Midtdal passed peacefully, age 73, at Ridge Meadows Hospice on August 20, 2021. He had been ill for some time and lost his battle. Sid is survived by his wife Joy, son Graham and grandson Brody. Each surviving member of his family visited him privately on separate days prior to his passing. Brothers Terrance (Emi), Daniel (Alexandria), Peter (Victoria), and Sister Rebecca (d. Ernie). He was predeceased by his parents Norman and Elizabeth and his brothers Raymond (Ruth), Paul (d. Barb) and Timothy. Friends of Sid all had contact through email and cards prior to his passing and he was aware of their love, they shared memories from their past with Sid. Flowers and cards were received after Sid passed.
Family and friends said our goodbyes to Sid in person and there will be no gathering. Sid was a DJ and worked in a sawmill prior to beginning his teacher training at Columbia College, Langara College (were he was also a DJ) and UBC. His teaching career began at Pitt Meadows Secondary and he taught English, Communications 12 and was a Librarian there until his retirement.
