PLUTA, Steffie (Stella)nee Chorney
Steffie was born March 17, 1932 in Wynyard, Saskatchewan, one of 13 children. She moved to Vancouver in the early 1950’s, met her husband Joe and married in 1952 and had 3 children. Linda, Phyllis and Eugene. They all grew up in East Vancouver where Steffie was a cook in many restaurants in the Vancouver area. Joe, Steffie and Linda all moved to Maple Ridge in 1990 and created a new life there. Steffie was a fantastic cook and she wasn’t happy until everybody was full and happy. She loved going to Bingo and made many friends there and her and Linda were regular fixtures at the Casinos, never seeming to lose money. Steffie was a proud Ukrainian and taught us to cook and play Troika. Her memory will be with all of us forever. Left to miss her terribly are her 3 children Linda, Phyllis (Mark) and Eugene. Her grandchildren Adam (Meghan), John (Lindsay), Sam (Jaclyn), Jenny (Ryan), Tracey (Matt) and Dean and her great - grandchildren Dominic, Lucas, Jacob, Mason & Caelyn and her sister Bernice (Steve). Special thanks to the Zadorozny family of Seattle who loved their Auntie and showed it always. A Service will be held on Friday August 21 at 1:00 pm. Graveside at the Maple Ridge Cemetery, 21404 Dewdney Trunk Road followed by a get together at the Family Home 12606 Hardy St. Maple Ridge.
