On the 13th of September, Sue Rogers, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, took her last peaceful breath in Maple Ridge, BC. Sue is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Todd, her dear children, Chad and Sarah, her special son in law, Mark Dawson and her beloved Grandchildren, Nixon and London. Sue will be loved forever by her brothers and sisters: Kenny Aikin, Gerry Aikin, Barb Griffin, Rick Aikin, Joe Aikin, Joanne Rogers and all her nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her longest and closest friends Dianna and Dave McGowan and many other long-time pals.
Sue was born in Vancouver and grew up in Burnaby enjoying horseback riding with her long-time childhood friend, Tina Micholls, and days at English Bay with her siblings. Sue is predeceased by her Mother Connie Boudreau, Mother and Father in Law Jaye and Thomas Rogers, Brother in Law Buddy Rogers, Brother in Law Gord Griffin, her loving brother Bob Aikin, best friend Jacquie Allan, caring neighbour Donna Skuce and nephew Kevin McGowan. Sue married the love of her life, Todd and moved to Maple Ridge to raise a family in 1977. In the 70 years Sue was on Earth, she changed so many lives for the better. From family, friends, neighbors, daycare kids, her best friends "the Girls", Chad and Sarah's friends; whoever came into Sue's life knew that she cared deeply for them. Sue beat Cancer over 20 years ago which gave her a chance to see Todd put in over 40 years at Hastings Thoroughbred Racetrack in Vancouver (where she was known as the 'Cookie Lady' in the Jocks room). She got to watch Sarah graduate with her Masters, get married and have children. Sue also got to see Chad succeed living abroad with a high-flying career to moving right down the road from Sarah in Peachland BC, where she loved to visit. Sue loved to cook, read, drink wine, have family pajama parties with Kenny, Barb and Bob and spend time with her children and grandchildren in Peachland. Sue had a way with making people feel welcome and was known for her quick wit and humor. She was also an amazing shoulder to cry on and was strength and support for so many people in her life.
