Mom was born in Manitoba but spent most of her life in the south coast of BC. Port Alice, Hammond, Vancouver, and Surrey to name a few. Moving to Maple Ridge in the early 70's. She loved to volunteer and was very active in the community of Maple Ridge. Mostly volunteering within the Legion community with many years on the executive of the Ladies Auxiliary including President and Zone Commander.
This social distancing was very hard on Mom as she was very social and missed everyone. From her balcony she told me who was listening to the warnings of staying home and away from others. She was very aware that we all need to stay distant or we would be forever distant from our family and friends. She knew she didn't have much time left and was very sad of wasted time being distant but it needed to be done. She figured if she could do it everyone could.
Mom had some amazing friends within the Maple Ridge Branch of the Legion, the Ladies Auxiliary, the Red Hat Ladies Community and at the Gardens.
Mom was short in stature but had a very large personality. She loved to laugh with a great sense of humour. She was Mom, Grandma and friend to us, we love her and will miss her everyday.
In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice or her favorites were Parkinson's, BC Lung Association, BC Heart, Muscular Dystrophy, Multiple Sclerosis and of course The Royal Canadian Legion, Maple Ridge Branch No. 088.
