August 1, 1983 – September 8, 2021
Trent Edward Gibney took his final breath suddenly and unexpectedly on September 8th 2021. Born August 1st 1983 to Bryce and Lorna Gibney (Sharon), Trent was the only boy in a family of five children.
He is lovingly remembered by his four sisters for his exceptional storytelling abilities which began in his childhood years, and frequently involved manipulating his mother into thinking they were ganging up on him. Anyone who knew Trent was treated to his talent for telling a good story, which often involved embellishing, exaggerating, or even inventing details to entertain his audience.
Trent cared deeply for his family and his faithful feline companion of the last fifteen years, Sparticus. He wasn’t afraid to be ‘that guy’ that loved his cat, and the two were inseparable.
Trent’s many talents extended from being an exceptional chef to recently completing his electrical apprenticeship. He loved the outdoors and especially the summer months as he found the darkness of the winter months depressing.
Trent is survived by his parents, Bryce and Lorna, sisters Tanya, Kylie, Morgan, and Kara and numerous nieces and nephews, in particular Hunter Jordan. Trent is predeceased by grandparents Ed Gibney, Colin and Marie Sharon, as well as uncles Lorne Gibney and Lance Sharon.
An informal memorial afternoon will be held Oct 3 from 1-3 pm at 23815 120B Ave, Maple Ridge. Please come and share your memories of our beloved son, brother, and uncle.
